iTIG III Overview Series
What Makes the iTIG III Different?
The iTIG III features a high frequency pulse repetition rate. High frequency surge tests find more cases of insulation weaknesses than low frequencies used by other testers. Electrom is the only manufacturer delivering high frequency computer controlled automatic tests with pulse repetition rates up to 50Hz. Other automated testers use surge pulse repetition rates of 1Hz to 5Hz.
Partial Discharge Measurement:
The iTIG III is the most advanced PD tester available. No accessories are required. No settings are required. No change in PD threshold levels are required. Plus, the iTIG III is completely PD free to the max test voltage which is not the case with all other testers. The iTIG III’s PD test is also fully automatic and IEC 61934 compliant.
Industry Leading Accuracy:
The iTIG III continues the iTIG series’ legacy of noteworthy accuracy. Winding resistance can be measured down to 100 micro-Ohms with a resolution of 1µΩ. The IR leakage current measurement resolution is 10 pico-A (0.00001 micro-Amps) and measurements can be used for PI tests down to 500 pico-A. This means PI tests can be done accurately on motors with very low leakage current.
Furthermore, separate high precision resistance and megohm meters are no longer needed when the iTIG III is used for other tests such as Surge and PD tests
Portable Power Packs:
The iTIG III connects with the Power Pack II and Power Pack III to boost the maximum output voltage. Outputs of 18kV, 24kV, 30kV and 40kV are available in a rugged case that is light weight and portable. DC Hipot, Step Voltage, Ramp tests, and Surge tests can be automatic with the addition of the power pack.
Powerful Reporting Tools:
The iTIG III generates complete reports for powerful diagnostics. Test results can be saved and transferred to the customer’s server via USB flash drive, ethernet, or WIFI. Test summary files are saved in a spreadsheet format (CSV). This raw test data can be used to create custom reports in an Excel spreadsheet. Use TRPro for time-saving filtering functions that track trending results over time, compare motors of the same type, filter tests by customer, deliver summary reports, and more.
Fully Automatic Tests:
The iTIG III Model D is fully automatic in more ways than one. First, all tests can be done with one lead set on 3-phase motors. This eliminates the need for the operator to manually change lead sets. Second, all selected tests are done in one automatic sequence from start to finish. The operator selects the tests which can include:
